  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).

  2. Prepare the Bread
    Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise. Place both halves on a baking sheet, cut sides facing up.

  3. Make Garlic Butter
    In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it starts to bubble. Add the minced garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.

  4. Assemble the Garlic Bread
    Brush the cut side of the bread generously with the garlic butter mixture.
    Sprinkle evenly with grated Parmesan.

  5. Bake and Broil
    Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
    Then switch to broil and toast for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
    Watch carefully to prevent burning.

  6. Serve
    Slice and serve immediately while hot and fragrant.

  • Unsalted butter? Add a pinch of salt to the melted butter if you're not using salted.
  • Parmesan tip: Freshly grated parmesan from a block melts better and has superior flavor compared to pre-grated varieties.
  • No parsley? Substitute with chopped fresh basil.
  • Scaling down: Use ciabatta rolls instead of a whole loaf for smaller portions.
  • Cheese swaps: Asiago is a great alternative to parmesan if preferred.
  • No fresh garlic? Use 2 teaspoons of garlic powder (1 clove โ‰ˆ ยฝ tsp garlic powder).
  • Avoid scoring bread: Donโ€™t cut the bread before brushing with butter โ€” it will prevent the butter from soaking in properly.
  • More cheese, please: Add shredded mozzarella before baking for an extra cheesy finish.
