🧂 Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 cups (480 ml) milk
  • ⅓ cup (55 g) Cream of Wheat®
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tablespoon (7 g) butter
  • 2 tablespoons (28 g) dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) pure maple syrup
  • Fresh blueberries and raspberries, optional for topping

🍳 Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine milk, vanilla extract, and butter.
  2. Heat over medium-high until just beginning to boil — watch closely to prevent overflowing.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add salt and slowly pour in Cream of Wheat, stirring continuously to ensure a smooth texture. (Pouring it all at once may create lumps — which are fine if preferred!)
  4. Cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency — about 2½ minutes.
  5. Divide the hot cereal between two bowls.
  6. Stir 1 tablespoon brown sugar into each serving, then drizzle 1 tablespoon maple syrup on top.
  7. Garnish with fresh berries if desired.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
