Breakfast - Cream of Wheat Comfort Bowl¶
A cozy, nostalgic start to your day! This warm, creamy bowl is sweetened with brown sugar and maple syrup, finished with fresh berries. Itโs the perfect blend of comfort and simplicity.
๐ง Ingredients (Serves 2)¶
- 2 cups (480 ml) milk
- โ cup (55 g) Cream of Wheatยฎ
- ยผ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pure vanilla extract
- ยฝ tablespoon (7 g) butter
- 2 tablespoons (28 g) dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) pure maple syrup
- Fresh blueberries and raspberries, optional for topping

- In a medium saucepan, combine milk, vanilla extract, and butter.
- Heat over medium-high until just beginning to boil โ watch closely to prevent overflowing.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add salt and slowly pour in Cream of Wheat, stirring continuously to ensure a smooth texture. (Pouring it all at once may create lumps โ which are fine if preferred!)
- Cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency โ about 2ยฝ minutes.
- Divide the hot cereal between two bowls.
- Stir 1 tablespoon brown sugar into each serving, then drizzle 1 tablespoon maple syrup on top.
- Garnish with fresh berries if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
